Weight Loss Goals

Last night I reflected on what I have accomplished in the last 10 weeks, and I realized that I hadn’t actually set any specific goals as to what I wanted to accomplish with this lifestyle change. This is strange because everytime I tried losing weight before that was the first thing I did. Maybe this time I I didn’t think I would be able to do it… so didn’t want to let myself down by making goals. But now I know that I can (and am) doing it. So, it is time for me to set my goals.

My starting weight on September 19, 2008 was 338 pounds. My weight is currently 309 pounds. I have lost 29 pounds in 10 weeks, so my average weight loss per week was 2.9 pounds. I will use this number to determine a fair and realistic timeframe to set my goals.

Goal #1: To reach 265 Pounds (73 pound loss). I WILL be my pre-pregnancy weight by my 26th birthday.

  • 47 Pounds to go @ 2.5 pounds per week = 19 weeks to accomplish goal
  • Goal to be accomplished by April 11, 2009
  • REWARD: $500 shopping spree, new hair cut, and have a celebration party!

Goal #2: To reach 238 Pounds (100 pound loss) by my daughter’s 5th birthday. I WILL be 100 pounds lighter for my daughter.

  • 74 Pounds to go @ 2.2 pounds per week = 33 weeks to accomplish goal
  • Goal to be accomplished by July 18, 2009
  • REWARD: $500 shopping spree, new hair cut, and have a celebration party!

Goal #3: To reach 199 Pounds (139 pound loss) by the end of 2009. I WILL start 2010 in ONEDERLAND.

  • 113 Pounds to go @ 2.0 pounds per week =  57 weeks to accomplish goal
  • Goal to be accomplished by December 31, 2009
  • REWARD: A Personal Trainer to get off the last 39 pounds! & a $500 shopping spree to be enjoyed during boxing week sales!

Goal #4: To reach 160 Pounds (178 pound loss) by Summer 2010. I WILL be at my goal weight for summer!

  • 152 Pounds to go @ 1.9 pounds per week = 80 weeks to accomplish goal
  • Goal to be accomplished by June 1 2010.
  • REWARD: One major beauty enhancement (microdermabrasion, breast lift, hair removal, tattoo, etc) as desired at the time.

I have also decided to make a list of things I can reward myself with for reaching my weekly goals (% of weight loss as needed, and any challenge I may be working on). I will list the reward I have given myself during my weekly weigh in blog post.

Weekly rewards:

  • A new nail polish                          - A new CD
  • A new book                                   - A new body product (lotion, soap, etc)
  • A new candle or incent                - A new eyeshadow
  • A new lipstick or lipgloss             - A new piece of jewelery
  • An article of clothing                    - A movie
  • Exercise equipment                     - Something for the house (painting, plant, etc)
