I am having trouble, help!

My night time snacking has become a bit out of control. I keep wanting to eat after dinner, and for some reason I am having a really hard time saying no. I know that I eat the worst foods at night time, and lately it has been happening more and more frequently. I am not sure why this has become such a big problem for me.

 At night I crave junk food - chocolate, chips, pop, candy. Last night I found myself munching on an entire pack of bubble gum (not sugar free gum - double bubble)… I would chew it until it lost most of the sugar, throw it out and pop in a new piece. I ate like 4 sugary mints! Then proceeded to make myself a grilled cheese and ham sandwich.

 Tonight was even worse - I went to the grocery store to buy ground turkey for my dinner, but they were out. So what did I decide? Well, if they are out - I guess I can’t have a healthy dinner! Lets buy burritos, chips, and chocolate covered strawberries. Yes! So, I ate 8 burritos throughout the day, half a large bag of chips, and like a cup of chocolate chips with 3 cups of strawberries. I don’t think I had a single vegetable all day. Nope, I didn’t.

I need help buddies! This is just ridiculous. It is getting out of control and I want no part of it.

    Ok Girl, take a step back, take a deep breath….I have been in your situation too many times to count, and ya know what, we cant change whats already happened, but we can change our choices in the future, now I used to think I didnt have an ounce of will power, and I told myself there was no way I could loose weight, but since I have been on this site I have lost every week….it helped me to really get involved, like I joined the Wildcats group and the 500 team 2 group, it helps when you have people you get dedicated too!
    Ya know it takes 3 times as long to break a habit than it does to start one, so it may seem hard but just keep going, you know where you want to be and every single step, even the baby ones, get you closer to your goal!
    So dont waste time on beating yourself up, look at how far you have already come!

    Ok things sound a bit chaotic for you at the moment. Take a deep breath…..

    Now, before you go shopping, MAKE A LIST. And on the list, have a fall back plan if the food you’re looking for isnt in the shop. Do not buy anything off the list. Dont kid yourself by saying it’s for the kids… because they dont need the junk food. And you can do without it in the house if you crave it at night.

    Believe it or not, a large bag of fruit can work out costing the same as bags of sweets, if you buy fruit that’s in season. Eating fruit when you’ve got a sweet tooth will calm the craving, and the fibre in the fruit will fill you up.

    Keep cut veggies around the house to much on.

    I’ve started telling myself I cant eat past 8pm during the week, and it’s stopped my mindless in-front-of-the-tv eating.

    Girl, you have lost 30lbs and that’s FANTASTIC. Think of your mini goal everytime you go to put something in your mouth that you really shouldnt.

    Just forget about that and start over. Take all that junk food and replace it with fruit and other healtier items.. If you eat all of your meals throughout the day you should not still be that hungry at the end of the day. Start tommorrow by not missing meals.

    Are you drinking a lot of water? It will help with night time cravings! Another thing to do would be to find something else to do; keep your hands busy- read, sew, scrapbook- keep your mind occupied so it won’t think about food! And make sure you are eating enough during the day to keep you full!

    STOP, tell youself STOP out loud, that’s what I do sometimes. You have come SOOOO far, look at your pics!! Just start over, make it a new day and start fresh.
