Close one, but made it through

I mentioned in my last blog that immediately after finding out I had lost 7 pounds I decided to indulge on, not one, but TWO wendy’s meals… crazy, I know. Well, after I ate them I crashed for 3 hours - my body was totally overdosed on fat, carbs, and salt. When I woke up though, I was totally amazed at how I felt. I read everyone’s comments and it all made me feel better. I cleaned up my act. Decided that the 1500 calories I ate for lunch had to be taken care of. So, I cleaned up the house and rid my living area of all the Wendy’s wrappers lying around (which were acting as a nasty reminder and made me feel totally guilt ridden everytime I noticed them)… then, I got my workout clothes on and went to the gym to burn off those calories. I did 80 minutes worth of exercise, and burned about 800 calories. I hadn’t had dinner, and told myself that I wouldn’t be allowed to eat any carbs, fats, or salts… so I went home and had a HUGE salad with a variety of cut up veggies with lemon juice.

I was on a mission to make up for my mistake. And it worked. I got on the scale today, and was totally thrilled to see my weight at 315 - which was the weight it was yesterday morning before the 2 wendy’s meals. YAY! I am feeling much better now knowing that I didn’t totally mess myself up for the week. :)

I also realized that it is entirely possible that I am not rewarding myself enough for my achievements - mostly because of my current financial situation. However, it costs me 20 bucks for take out, and I could have easily spent that on something else that I would have enjoyed more and that would have been aligned with my goals. So, today I plan to think of some rewards that I could give myself and some ways that I can celebrate my weight loss with so that I am not so tempted to eat take out when finding out that I have lost weight.

On that note - can you think of any small, inexpensive rewards that I could treat myself to weekly when I lose weight?

CONGRATS on the work out!!! :) Do you like movies? You could reward your self with a subsription to netflix. It isn’t expensive at all for the smaller plans and you get new movies all the time, not only that but they have a pretty big selection of fitness dvd’s so that way you can try new things if you get bored with what your doing! I should probably start rewarding my self too! hahaha…. I just unfortunatly spent WAYYY to much at the grocery store, so my “free” money for the week is shot!

Angel I am so proud of you for not letting that little slip up mess with your head. You got up, dusted yourself off and figured out a way to make up for it…great job! As for rewarding yourself - I have a hard time with that…right now the reward is seeing the numbers go down. I have rewards in mind for the big steps but I suck when it comes to the little ones. Have you thought of maybe enjoying a bubble bath in PEACE and QUIET as a reward? Or treating yourself to a movie or a new book? I know those are nerdy ideas - LOL But that is me…LOL

Anyway - congrats on having your head in the right place!

    HUGS girlie!!

Awesome workout! I think the important thing is you learned something about yourself, and I bet you will do different next time!

Great rebound!! As far as rewards, maybe a manicure or a new bottle of polish to do your own. I love Bath & Bodyworks and all the wonderful pretty soaps. Maybe treat yourself to a new bathwash with a nice holiday scent? Or…maybe, you could tuck the $ away that you would spend on fast food intead for clothes.

Congrats on getting right back on track after your Wendy’s splurge! I’m really interested in finding some ideas for small rewards, too. I was thinking of buying myself some new workout gear or maybe getting some new shoes. I also like the manicure/nail polish idea, and you can never go wrong with Bath & Body Works. Great ideas! :) I need to start putting a little cash back here and there in a “reward fund.” :)
