2 week challenge: 12 Day Detox & strict 14 Day low carb high protein diet

I am including a new aspect to my diet plan, and I have started it today. I had previously decided that whenever I hit a plateau I would kick things forward by doing a detox/cleanse, and although I don’t think I have hit a plateau I feel that a Detox would be useful at this point.

So, today I went out and bought a 12 day detox and started a very strict low carb high protein diet. The diet goes like this:

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs

Snack: Atkins Shake

Lunch: Either 2 grilled chicken breasts, 1/2 an avacado, and 2 cups of mixed green salad with balsamic vinegar dressing OR 1 can of Tuna, 1 cup of cherry tomatoes, and 2 cups of mixed green salad with balsamic vinegar dressing.

Snack: 2 hardboiled egg whites

Dinner: Either grilled chicken breasts, a grilled steak, a grilled salmon, or a grilled tuna. Served with half a plate of steamed veggies (any mixture of cauliflower, green beans, broccoli, snap peas, and baby carrots) tossed in olive oil and garlic.

Snack: 2 hardboiled eggs

I have done this diet before, and it is very restrictive and repetitive - but it works well. I am hoping that this will go well with my 12 day detox, which will also be supplemented with a fibre supplement, my thyroid meds, and my 5HTP pills. I am also aiming to drink 3000 ml of water every day (6 bottles), and to exercise every day for at least 30 minutes. I have given myself about 10 exercise options every day to choose from, so I have no excuse to not exercise for at least 30 minutes… and with such a high protein diet, that will be hugely beneficial.

So, buddies - wish me luck… I am on another 2 week challenge to eat only what is planned, exercise every day and complete this detox. I have a feeling the weight loss will be huge, and I will feel much better by the end of it. Have you ever done a detox? Let me know the results - all advice you can give would be appreciated! Anyone that cares to join the challenge is welcome to! :D

You are so dedicated, it is really having an impact on me, and you are helping me stay on course!
I have only had experience with a small 3 day detox that I did. It was in the form of a tea, there was a small change, and I did feel better at the end of it, but this was a pretty mild detox. Just make sure to listen to your body. I think that you are on the right track about the plateau thing, whenever that happens you’ve got to shake it up a little bit!
Keep up the amazing work,my friend!
